Tikis are originally from the southern pacific islands and are the representation of men as gods. In former times they were carved from wood or stone for the purposes of worship, protection and even awe. Limbo is a mysterious and unknown place, which may be viewed as paradisical. A cult to the mythology of tikis originated in the united states in the fifties starting a movement which continues to the present day.

In Tikilimbo we pay tribute to polynesian pop art culture and the mythology which forms a part of the cultural tiki movement.

Tikilimbo first opened its doors in 2004, when two travellers found their place in the world. It was the first hotel-restaurant in montanita to pay homage to the tiki culture.

Nowadays Tikilimbo is one of the most atmospheric places in montanita. A hotel, restaurant, chillout area, surf shop and surf school.........all wrapped up in the mysterious cloud transmitted by the tikis, which in their turn connect us to limbo.
